A court in Lichuan, Hubei province, recently declared a year-long marriage between two cousins null and void when the couple went to court seeking a divorce.

Liu and Tan got married after their parents arranged the match.

However, a year after their marriage, the couple realized they were incompatible.

The court deemed the marriage invalid since Liu and Tan were closely consanguineous.
