Man in coma wakes up after 13 years

A Beijing man who was in a coma for 13 years miraculously regained consciousness recently, thanks to his wife's undying efforts to nurse him.

Yang Liying, 51, has taken care of her husband since a gas poisoning accident left him in a coma.

"I never thought of giving up, because we are husband and wife," she said.

Last month, while she was doing her daily chores in the house, her husband called out her name.

Since then his condition has only improved. Besides uttering a few words, he has also started eating by himself now.
