Dog prefers ride to walk

A dog that likes to take a joy ride on his owner's bike is attracting many curious looks from pedestrians in Guangzhou's Haizhu District.

The owner Liu said he had to take his 8-month-old dog for a spot of fresh air every morning, to keep him happy all day.

The dog sits quietly enjoying the scenery while Liu, a retired worker, takes him for a ride around the neighborhood.

Liu said he took in the abandoned dog when it was born and spent more than 1,000 yuan ($129) to cure it of a disease late last year. Ever since, the dog has become very attached to him, he said.
