Government officials in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are turning to a new way to attract foreign investment and strengthen economic ties forming a golf team.

The special team, believed to be the first on the mainland, will consist of government officials on at least the prefecture level.

They will irregularly organize golf competitions with local foreign investors to answer their questions related to regional development.

The team is even considering inviting special golf coaches to train them.
