A woman surnamed Huang got a big surprise on Monday when she went to a Guangzhou branch of the Bank of Communication and found there was 1.19 billion yuan (US$150 million) in her account.

Huang, who is now working in the South China boom city, found that a total of 9.8 billion yuan had been deposited to her bank account over a period of two months and six withdrawals had also been made without her knowledge starting June 28 this year, the Guangzhou Daily reported.

Huang's company put her monthly salary, less than 2,500 yuan, in the account on the third day of every month, according to the report.

The ordinary company clerk said she had not checked her account for about two months, but she was pretty sure that her account balance should not exceed 5,000 yuan.

With the unexpectedly large fortune in her account, Huang threw doubts on the bank's guarantee of account security to its clients.

"If others could deposit and withdrew money from my account in such an easy manner, my money in the account could also be gone anytime," Huang was quoted as saying by the paper.

Huang called 110, an emergency police number, and was told to ask the bank for details.
