A retired teacher from Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, is busy seeking businesspeople interested in manufacturing a pen he has invented to help prevent students from becoming short-sighted.

Pan, 65, said that many of his students gradually became short-sighted as they incorrectly placed their fingers too close to the top of their pens, which he believed blocked their view.

After many years of research, Pan successfully invented a pen able to help students maintain a correct posture while writing.

Pan has been granted a patent for the pen by the State Intellectual Property Office.
