A graduate fresh from university disguised himself as a rich man-hunting girl to boost the readership of his online post.

The man, signed as Little Correspondence Student on the popular Tianya forum, wrote, "Why bother to pursue love? I just want to land a patron for myself at a good price."

The thread, titled "Come over, men of wealth," was posted at midnight yesterday but drew the attention of more than 50 forumites on Tianya.

Some jeered at the bold "gold digger;" most showed their deep concern, trying to guide the "girl" back on the right track.

"At such a young age, how could you develop such an idea about life? We are willing to help you in case you get into any trouble," wrote an anonymous netizen.

The bubble of mischief was pricked by a forumite who noted many loopholes in the original post a half hour after it was posted.

The man-hunting gold digger turned out to be a male university graduate. After being found out, he posted again under his true identity and wrote that he was just playing a joke on others.
