Seven children were killed in a stadium collapse in western China's Shaanxi Province while they were taking tae kwon do lessons Sunday evening, local media reported Monday.

More than 20 students, all around 10 years of age, were trainings in the school in Dali County when one of the indoor stadiums main walls suddenly caved in. The wall reportedly caved in when an electrical pole fell on it.

However, investigators said the accident might have been originally caused by the awful weather, with a thunderstorm and gale winds blacking out 90 percent of the county.

The accident also left 10 injured.

Madam Wang, who was accompanying her son that day, was also buried by the falling wall. After struggling out, she helped to rescue five children from the ruin.

Rescue work is still under way.
