Coming-of-age ceremony in Hefei

Students of an art school, all in traditional Han
costumes, take oath to be patriotic, respect teachers and be filial to
their parents at a coming-of-age ceremony in Hefei, east China's Anhui province June 8, 2006. The ceremony is held
to celebrate the coming-of-age of those who are turning or
have turned 18 this year, to increase their awareness about
the responsibilities of adulthood. The arts school will organize such ceremonies each year
to celebrate the coming-of-age for their students in the future.
