Husband jealous over pet dog

A man in southwestern China's Chongqing city thought his wife spent so much time with her pet dog that he stabbed the poor animal with a pair of scissors.

The dying dog was sent to an animals' hospital after being found by a neighbor outside the family's home. He is now in stable condition after four hours of surgery.

The wife refuses to bring her dog back home for fear that her husband will hurt him again.

China currently lacks any laws against animal cruelty and abuse.
