Shanghai government departments, primary and middle schools will have three days off from June 14 to 16 when the summit meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will be held in the city on June 15.

The city government announced yesterday that government departments and schools will be open on the weekend before the meeting.

Other institutions and enterprises are allowed to set their own work schedules for the week.

To ensure success of the summit, the city is planning to enact traffic restrictions on some local roads and areas during the meeting.

Details have yet to be worked out, however.
