Colliery blast leaves 8 dead in Henan

The site of the coal mine gas blast in China's central province of Henan May
24, 2006. An illegal coal mine exploded at 9:00 p.m. on Monday due to
high density of gas, leaving eight workers dead. The mine had been suspended the production license,
however, it forced workers into the pit without the
approval of local goverment. Picture taken on May 24, 2006.
