Lift doors squeeze man to death

A Nanning resident surnamed Huang was killed when elevator doors closed on his neck in the capital city of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region last Thursday.

Huang, 24, worked in the building where the accident happened.

Huang's colleagues immediately called a local emergency hotline when they found Huang stuck in the lift's doors in the afternoon.

When firefighters arrived at the scene and released him 15 minutes later, he was immediately sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.

But doctors said Huang had died before his arrival.
