 Firefighters work at the scene of a chemical storehouse blast near
an expressway toll station in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province in the
evening of May 10, 2006. As many as 8,000 local residents were evacuated,
including 4000 students. About 50 of the evacuees got poisoned by the gas
released from burning chemicals, and were rushed to a local hospital. Most of
them have been discharged, and no one death was reported.
