Zhong Ying, a freshman in Sichuan University,
smiles as she learned there was no danger to her mother's life a week
after a liver transplant operation in the West China Hospital, southwest China's
Sichuan Province, March 29, 2006. On the same day, the hospital announced the
success of the liver transplant operations on Zhong and her
mother. To save her mother from a life-threatening illness, 18-year-old
Zhang offered to donate a liver on March 20, causing a sensation among the
society. The operation was carried out on March 21, and the mother and
