Macao police have captured five suspects allegedly selling drugs and running an underground casino, local media reported on Wednesday.

The Macao Post Daily quoted police sources as saying that the police forces apprehended the quintet Monday based on a tip-off and seized 20.37 gram of ketamine and 47 ecstasy pills on the suspects.

The police forces then raided a downtown apartment flat rented by the suspects, seizing a number of bank notes and gaming chips worth 4 million Hong Kong dollars (571,400 U.S. dollars), the sources told the newspaper.

The suspects are believed to use drugs to make easier their hoodwinking on their gaming patrons, the sources were cited.

The five suspects, four Vietnamese nationals and one Chinese mainlander, have been transferred to the Public Prosecution for further investigations and possible arraignment of drug-trafficking and fraud charges.
