Wu Guanzheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, has called for still greater efforts to fight corruption at its roots.

Wu, who is also secretary of the CPC Central Discipline Inspection Commission, makes the calls in an article to be published in the latest issue of the "Seeking Truth" magazine.

The CPC Central Committee has been insisting on strategic guidelines to fight corruption, advocating clean governance and set up a mechanism to penalize and prevent corruption, according to the official.

"As the economic and social development continues, we have to further step up efforts to prevent corruption from its source, drawing from the experience of fighting corruption from the international community," he says.
