Well-known investor announces 'running-away'

Wang Gongquan, a partner of CDH Investments, announced Monday via Sina micro blog that he plans to elope with Wang Qin, the founder of Jiangsu Zhongfu Science and Technology Industrial Group Co.

The message soon attracted major attention on the country's micro blog sites.

According to a report by eeo.com.cn, a CDH Investments insider said company executives are holding an urgent meeting to discuss a response to Wang's sudden departure.

According to CDH's website, the company was established in 2002 and calls itself an international alternative asset fund manager. It manages over $5.5 billion from more than 100 international and domestic institutional investors.

Yu Lei, a well-known business columnist, posted on his micro blog: "A friend familiar with the investment circle told me that the plan to elope was actually a marketing tactic; the fact is that they will open a new PE (private equity) company. People who're disappointed in love can remain disappointed, and those who are in the micro blog marketing business can learn from the case."
