Mars China headquarters office groundbreaking ceremony held in Beijing

With the theme of the "One Hour, One Year, for One Future", the groundbreaking ceremony for the China headquarters office of Mars Inc was held at Mars China's Huairou plant in outskirt of Beijing on Wednesday.

Haiping Wang, the secretary of the CPC Committee from Huairou district, Weisheng Chi, Huairou Mayor as well as heads from the government units at both municipal and district levels, representatives from Mars China's leadership team Justin Scotti, Yeekhun Lee and Shaughan Kennedy and over 100 associates from Mars China attended the ceremony.

An estimated 130 million yuan will be invested in Mars China headquarters office. Ehab AbouOaf, Mars China's president said that the launch of the project not only fully demonstrated Mars' confidence in Beijing's investment environment, but also optimism regarding the future development of the Chinese market. Justin Scotti, CFO of Mars China also emphasized that point at the groundbreaking ceremony speech.

Upon completion, the headquarters office will include the functions of administrative management, account settlement, human resources as well as research and development. This will play a critical role for Mars China to further enhance international management, accelerate the development and attraction of high-end industrial talents and increase tax contribution.

The new Mars China headquarters office will enhance its capacity to provide quality products to international standards to the domestic market. Meanwhile, it will also increase exports to neighboring countries.

The Mars China headquarters office will be a "green" building certified with the international LEED Gold. This means that although the project will promote the industrial development of the municipality, it will also demonstrate environmental friendliness and harmonious development. A large part of the project's investment will be applied to energy conservation, environmental protection ensuring and low carbon emission facilities.

At the ground breaking ceremony, the Huairou Mayor Chi Weisheng pointed out that the Mars China headquarters office project will not only meet Beijing's city development strategy of "culturally enriched Beijing", "technologically empowered Beijing", and "environmentally friendly Beijing", but also correspond to the city's blueprint to build itself into a world city.
