China April PPI up 6.8%

China's producer price index (PPI), a major measure of inflation at the wholesale level, increased by 6.8 percent year-on-year in April, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) announced today.

That is 0.9 percentage point higher than March's 5.9 percent, the NBS said.
