BHP Billiton not to install president in China
By Zhang Jiawei (chinadaily.com.cn)
Updated: 2009-08-07 15:47 BHP Billiton, the world's largest mining company, canceled plans to install a new president for the company's operations in China, the Beijing-based Jinghua Times reported today. The main reason for the cancelation was that the company wanted to adjust its marketing model, the newspaper said, without telling details about the company's decision.
The previous president, Clinton Dines, left his job after taking the helm of BHP's China business for 21 years. He was mainly responsible for the company's administrative affairs in China and its relationship with the government. Ben Williams will manage BHP's China operations. Williams is currently vice president for marketing in China, and sells the company's iron ore and manganese ore. (For more biz stories, please visit Industries)
