Chinese shares renewed a 13-month high on Wednesday to close at 3,188.55 points, as nonferrous metal, coal and oil shares pushed up the rise.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3188.55 points, up 43.39 points, or 1.38 percent. The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 13,079.26 points, up 88.19 points, or 0.68 percent.

Total turnover shrank to 245.49 billion yuan ($35.94 billion) from 280.53 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
