NDRC: Further shut down backward production facilities

China will shut down backward iron plants with a total capacity of 10 million tons this year and backward steel mills with a total capacity of 6 million tons, according to the country's top planner, the National Development and Reform Commission.

The country will also shut down backward paper mills with a total capacity of 500,000 tons and backward power plants with a total capacity of 15 million kilowatts.
