China trade fair kicks off in Kathmandu

Updated: 2008-04-26 09:33 "China Trade Fair 2008" kicked off at the Birendra International Conference Center in the Nepali capital of Kathmandu on Friday afternoon. Minister for Information and Communication of Nepal Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Chinese ambassador to Nepal Zheng Xianglin inaugurated the fair. The fair, organized jointly by the Nepal-China Executive Council and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China with the Nepal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry as co-organizer, would go on till April 28. Organisers estimated over 80,000 attendees to the fair. The 2, 000 square meters of exhibition floor is applied by 45 exhibitors to display their automobiles, home appliances, electronic products, wind power generation equipment and health equipment, etc. Chinese investors interested in investing in Nepal are also attending. The fair is the third major yearly trade fair of Chinese products in Nepal. Through this fair, the organizers hope to introduce quality products from China and the fast pace of China's development to the Nepalese public.
