The new inter-city high speed trains, or CRH (China Railway High-speed) trains will travel at a record high speed of over 200 kilometers per hour, bringing travel times between Beijing and other major cities of Shanghai, Wuhan, Shenyang, Changchun, Haerbin and Qingdao shortened by at least two to several hours. However, ticket prices for such CRH trains are expected to be twice as much as that of normal trains.

Reports say some CRH trains had already been put into trial services during the peak travel season of the past Spring Festival in February.
