Sources from the National Automotive Standardization Technical Committee said the new compulsory national standard for passenger car brake systems is going to be published. The new standard raises requirements for various aspects of passenger car brake systems compared to the existing one.

 

The current GB12676-1999 standard in China was worked out according to the ECE R13 standard publicized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in 1990. The ECE R13 norm, as a unified standard for passenger vehicles, cargo vehicles and trailers, lacks specific requirements for passenger cars.
