Chinese satisfied with consumer goods(Xinhua)Updated: 2006-11-08 14:43 Up to 80 percent of Chinese consumers are pleased with the quality of major consumer goods including home appliances, cell phones and automobiles, according to the latest report released by the China Association for Quality Promotion on Tuesday. Home appliances top the list of satisfactory goods, with an 85.7 percent approval rating. Mobile phones and autos reported satisfactory ratings of 83.7 and 70.44 percent respectively. Famous brands won favor from most consumers polled, according to the survey. The less encouraging news comes from the after-sales service provided by producers. Nearly 30 percent of people said they were not happy with the service especially for care repairs. The survey also shows that a lack of product innovation still plagues the industry.
