DaimlerChrysler Northeast Asia will certify 56 regional suppliers in an effort to localize its operations. "To succeed in China, we must expand localized production," said Till Becker, chairman and chief executive officer of DaimlerChrysler Northeast Asia. "With the expansion of Chinese businesses, we will add more local suppliers to our supply chain. Currently, some local suppliers can meet higher standards and have become DaimlerChrysler partners."

Chinese and South Korean supplier representatives recently attended a one-week-long training session aimed at informing suppliers about the DaimlerChrysler system and requirements.
