SMEs need knowledge about VC

The China VC/PE New Times Capital Forum held in Beijing on September 6 was more like a classroom lecture for local entrepreneurs than a high-level discussion session.

Although some of the attending bosses from around the country, especially those of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), might not have found it as easy as they had thought to achieve their investment purposes on the forum, at least now they know more about the working style and business mode of venture capital (VC).

Tsinghua Ziguang High-Tech Zone, where the forum was held, is next to Tsinghua University - the top Chinese academy, north of Zhongguancun - the so-called Chinese silicon valley in the north of Beijing and hosts world famous IT companies such as Google and Sohu, many of which gained their first capital from VC.
