Railway container terminal northeast branch to open

China Railway Container Transport Co Ltd and Dalian Port Group signed an agreement on August 8, to jointly invest in the establishment of the northeast branch of railway container terminals. It marks the full launch of the domestic railway container terminal project.

The northeast branch, in charge of the construction and operation of three terminals in Dalian, Shenyang and Harbin, will extend the network of rail/sea combined transport, and set up an integrated logistics service system centered on terminals and ports in Northeast China.

Locations of Dalian and Harbin terminals have been finalized, said Zheng Mingli, general manager of China Railway Container Transport. The two terminals are scheduled to start construction within this year, and will be put into use one year after. However, the location of the Shenyang terminal is still undecided.
