China strengthens copyright protection (Xinhua) Updated: 2006-04-21 08:57 The Chinese government vowed
here Wednesday it will strengthen protection for copyright.
Wang Ziqiang, spokesman of the National Copyright Administration (NCA), said
at a press conference organized by the State Council Information Office, the NCA
started from the spring of 2005 a series of special operations to crack down on
pirated optical discs and pirated audio-video products, as well as intensify a
campaign to rid the Internet piracy and copyright infringements.
The NCA also worked hard to publicize the Regulations on the Collective
Management of Copyright, and, together with the Ministry of Information
Industry, worked out the Methods of Administrative Protection of Internet
Copyright.
Wang said, the Chinese government will enforce its instructions to the
copyright trade, and copyright administration departments at all levels will
