Theme of the forum was "Interact With The World". There were 56 renowned speakers from China and overseas delivered speeches at the Forum, of which, there were 10 Chinese policymakers, Chairpersons of VC associations from Europe and Asia, as well as 20 VC internationally renowned VC experts. With rich contents, high-level keynote speeches, compact and inspirational parallel sessions; the forum brought together 748 participants, which was undoubtedly an international grand event for Venture Capitalist and Entrepreneurs. The Forum participation included 125 overseas delegates from senior management of VC institutions and 400 Chinese counterparts, 120 representatives from VC Intermediary service and the Media, as well as 100 representatives from government, academia and industry elites.

The forum is well organized to include many valuable topics. Besides the thematic forum of Venture Capital and Technology Innovation, there were 10 Parallel Sessions, namely, "Venture Capital and University S&T Industrialization", "Silicon Valley Venture Capitalists", "Hi-tech Development and Capital Market", "World Venture Capital Investment Models", "Venture Capital in China - Risks and Challenges", "Global Science Parks -Catalyst for Technology Innovation", "Overseas Venture Capitalist's Investment Strategies in China", "Concerns on Policy and Law and Cooperation Framework for Overseas Venture Capitalists to Enter China Market", "Entrepreneurs vs. Venture Capitalists-Typical Cases" and "China Venture Capital - Invest vs. Exit".

Opening Ceremony of the Forum was officiated by Mr. WANG Zhaolin, Vice Chairman of Guangdong Province Political Consultative Conference, Mr. SONG Hai, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, and welcoming and short speeches were delivered by Mr. CHEN Mingde, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of CNDCA, Mr. LI Hongzhong, Mayor of Shenzhen, Mr. LIU Yingli, Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, Mr. ZHANG Jing'an, Director of the Department of Policy, Regulation & System Reform and representative of Science and Technology Ministry, Mr. Eliezer Moody Sandberg, Minister of Israel Ministry of Science and Technology, Professor LIU Hongru, former Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission, Professor Chung-kwong Poon, President of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Mr. Jean-Bernard Schmidt, Chairman of European Venture Capital Association. There was a 40-minutes Q&A Session chaired by Dr. Gongmeng Chen, Director of the China Venture Capital Research Institute, where audience and speakers had thorough and interactive discussions on contemporary VC topics.

Parallel Sessions of the Forum were respectively chaired by Mr. Dixon Doll, Managing director of Doll Capital Management; Mr. HE Guojie, Director of GDVCA; Mr. CHEN Wei, Director of SZVCA; Mr. GU Liji, Chairman of CMST; Professor LIU Manhong, Renmin University of China; Mr. WANG Xuewei, Director of Shenzhen Science & Technology Agency; Mr. CHEN Weidong, Chairman of CVCRI; Mr. WANG Shouren, Secretary General of SZVCA and outstanding scholars. Discussions were focused yet extensive, ranging from Venture Capital and Technology Innovation to High Technology Enterprising, from GEM construction to optimization of Venture Capital Mechanism, from High Technology to breeding of business startups, attendees had shared with one and other different and inspirational views. The Forum was pushed to a climax in the evening of April 2 when Professor CHENG Siwei delivered his wrap-up speech.
