After five years, saxophone king Kenny G will return to Beijing and Shanghai again to bring Chinese audiences his enchanting music.
The saxophone master's last visit to China was in 2002 when he played at the Beijing's Workers' Stadium.
In Beijing late last year to promote his album In the Mood for Love, Kenny G told the media he hoped to repeat the success from his last tour of the mainland. "I have a strong feeling for China and always want to do something for it, " he said.
His latest album, In the Mood for Love, includes the Chinese classic Moon Represents My Heart. He has cooperated with Taiwan pop singer Wang Lee-hom on the song The One and Only You. He also became good friends with Hong Kong actor/singer Andy Lau and composed Be My Lady for him.
"It is quite exciting for me to play for the Chinese audience," said Kenny G. "Every time I give concerts here I feel happily surprised as every audience is so familiar with my music."
This time around, Kenny G will play in the more intimate 2,000-seat Beizhan Theater. "In a smaller space, I will be closer to my Chinese friends," he said.
He will go through all his classic hits in the concert and some of the singles from In the Mood for Love.
According to his agency, the 2005 Supergirl champion Li Yuchun will join him for the Beijing concert. And in Shanghai, Li Quan and Han Xue, singers signed with Sony BMG, will also feature.
