Chow Yun-fat's charity death pledge (China Daily) Updated: 2007-01-19 09:01
Hong Kong veteran actor Chow Yun-fat (Curse of the Golden Flower) is planning
to donate his fortune to charity after he passes away. Chow said recently that
he and his wife have no plans to have a child after their baby girl was
tragically miscarried. As for his roughly 1-billion-yuan property, the
52-year-old says that they plan to donate all their money to charity.
He says that since the fortune was given by society, it was natural to use it
for the good of society. However, the couple has not decided how to use the
money for charity. Chow had revealed that his wife wanted to set up a foundation
to help the needy and she was talking with their lawyer about the specific
measures.
Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chan also announced last year that he would donate
half of his property to charity on his death.
