Gan said the SAIC will focus on provincial satellite TV stations and the big cities' economic channels, to stop advertisement in the form of news or healthcare services.

According to Gan, the SAIC will also start investigations into mobile and internet advertisements, product placements, and advertisement alliance cheating.

The SAIC found 46,000 cases of illegal advertisements last year, resulting in fines of 244 million yuan ($37.58 million).
