Chinese shares close up Tuesday

BEIJING -- Chinese shares closed slightly higher Tuesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.13 percent, or 3.71 points, to 2,852.77.

The Shenzhen Component Index edged up 0.64 percent, or 77.25 points, to 12,128.50.
