China stocks close lower Friday

BEIJING - Chinese shares closed lower Friday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 15.46 points, or 0.51 percent, to 3,011.21.

The Shenzhen Component Index fell 90.33 points, or 0.71 percent, to 12,708.42.

Combined turnover shrank to 237.93 billion yuan ($36.6 billion) from 260.8 billion yuan the previous day.

Losers outnumbered gainers 559 to 327 in Shanghai and 863 to 409 in Shenzhen.
