BEIJING - Chinese shares closed mixed Wednesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 8 points, or 0.27 percent, to 3,007.04.

The Shenzhen Component Index declined 45.4 points, or 0.35 percent, to 12,753.85.
