China stocks close higher Wednesday

BEIJING - Chinese shares closed higher Wednesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 33.95 points, or 1.14 percent, to 3,001.36.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 41.45 points, or 0.33 percent, to 12,740.87.
