Petrochemical industry's output may reach 2.34t yuan

In the first quarter of this year, the output value of the petrochemical industry is expected to reach 2.34 trillion yuan.

A report by rhw China Petrochemical Industry Association (CPCIA) details first-quarter growth of an estimated 28 percent year-on-year, Yicai.com reported Wednesday.

The chemical industry's output value in the first quarter may be 1.35 trillion yuan – an increase of 30.3 percent year-on-year.

CPCIA estimated that the output value of the petrochemical industry in 2011 will grow by 20 percent year-on-year to 10.6 trillion yuan, the website reported.

According to statistics from CPCIA, 26,255 enterprises in the petrochemical industry accounted for an output value of 1.5 trillion yuan in the first two months. That makes for a 32.9-percent increase year-on-year, which accounted for 13.7 percent of the country's total industrial output value.
