Another 15 foreign agencies to release financial information in China

BEIJING - China approved another 15 foreign agencies' applications to publish financial information in China this year, bringing the total number to 25, the State Council Information Office (SCIO) said Thursday.

Wang Chen, director of the SCIO, told a press conference that leading global information providers like Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg and Dow Jones have performed good financial-services work in China.

China has effectively managed foreign organizations' release of financial information, which has been conducive to the healthy and orderly development of China's financial information services sector, he added.

According to a regulation that took effect June 1, 2009, the SCIO is the authorized administrator of foreign financial-information providers.

Wang said the SCIO will improve approval procedures to provide better services to foreign organizations.

The SCIO will also apply scientific and technological means to enhance its management efficiency, in a bid to safeguard both foreign providers' interests and the nation's information security, he added.

The SCIO hopes to increase exchange and communication with foreign financial-information providers, he added.
