Several automakers issue recalls in Chinese market in Oct

BEIJING - Several automakers issued recalls in Chinese market in October.

Japan's automaker Nissan Motor said on Oct 28 that it would recall 102,817 cars, including the Tiida and Sylphy in China due to a faulty engine control system.

According to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ), Honda started a recall a portion of 2007 version of import Acura RL cars in China on Oct 21, 2010.

Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co would recall 134,234 vehicles beginning November 15 due to a flawed design that could affect brake function, GAQSIQ said.

Earlier, China's quality watchdog said on Oct 15 that BMW Group began recalling more than 21,000 luxury sedans in China to fix a faulty brake system.

Vehicles recalled by BMW in China included 21,383 imported BMW 5, 6 and 7 Series autos manufactured between Dec 14, 2001, and Nov 23, 2009, along with 388 Rolls-Royce Phantom luxury cars manufactured between Jan 1, 2003, and Nov 30, 2009.

Meanwhile British carmaker Jaguar Land Rover recalled 30 Discovery 3 TDV6 diesel vehicles.

Another German luxury auto maker Daimler AG began recalling 9,201 Mercedes-Benz models of Vito and Viano autos in China to fix defective air conditioning systems, according to China's quality watchdog on Oct 12.

Besides, a total of 99 Bentley cars in Chinese mainland would also be recalled in November due to "defective mark", according to the GAQSIQ on Oct 19.
