XIAMEN - China on Tuesday hosted an international investment forum in the coastal city of Xiamen to attract foreign investment and encourage domestic investors to tap overseas market, as the world economy is recovering from the global financial crisis.

Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping is expected to deliver a keynote speech at the ongoing opening ceremony of the 2nd World Investment Forum, which is sponsored by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

During the biennial event, delegates from various states will discuss ways to advance sustainable development and promote investment in the post-crisis era.

The first such forum was held in Ghana in 2008.
