China to float $4.5b 10-year book-entry T-bonds

BEIJING - China's Ministry of Finance said Wednesday that it would float a batch of 10-year book-entry treasury bonds worth 30.44 billion yuan ($4.5 billion) from Thursday.

A statement on the ministry website said the bonds, with a fixed annual interest rate of 3.28 percent, would be sold to the public from August 5 to 9. Interest would be paid every half year.

The bonds will become tradable on August 11 through the country's inter-bank bond market and over the counter at designated commercial banks.

This is the 24th batch of its kind launched by the ministry this year.
