BEIJING - Chinese shares rallied for the fourth consecutive day in a week Thursday, with the benchmark indext up 1.07 percent, boosted by gains in property, non-ferrous metals.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 27.02 points to end at 2,562.41 points.

The Shenzhen Stock Index climbed 1.43 percent, or 147.65 points, to 10,471.77 points.

Total turnover declined to 175.15 billion yuan ($25.8 billion) from 196.87 billion yuan on the previous trading day.

Winners outnumbered losers by 810 to 56 in Shanghai and 890 to 77 in Shenzhen.
