China June passenger-car sales growth slows to 10.9%

China's passenger-car sales growth slowed in June to 10.9 percent from a year earlier, the China Automotive Technology & Research Center said today.

Sales of cars, sport-utility vehicles and multipurpose vehicles to consumers rose to 839,228 units last month, the center said. That compares with 34 percent growth in April and 25 percent in May, according to the center.

Passenger-car sales in the first-half rose 25.6 percent to 5.42 million units, the center said.

Automobile sales in June increased 14 percent to 1.13 million units and gained 30.5 percent in the first-half to 7.19 million units, according to the center.
