Property market sees sold-floor space up last week

Floor space transactions in the 35 cities monitored by China Index Academy went up last week (June 21 -27), the Shanghai Securities News reported Tuesday, citing a weekly report from the academy.

Among the 35 cities, Ningbo of Zhejiang province witnessed the most robust growth in floor space transactions, with a 231.18 percent weekly jump.

In a separate report, the academy said a total of 98 land plots were put on the block in the 20 cities monitored by the academy last week, down 22 percent from the week before. These plots measured 5.47 million square meters, down 41 percent week-on-week.

It also said that 49 land plots measuring 2.42 million square meters were sold last week, with the average price going up 17 percent week-on-week to 4,399 yuan ($647.96) per square meter.
