McDonald's Corp has recalled 12 million Shrek-themed glasses after the US Consumer Product Safety Commission warned consumers to stop using them because they contain cadmium, a toxic heavy metal.

A person from McDonald's China said the Shrek glasses are only promoted in the US and Canada markets and have nothing to do with the Coca-Cola glasses in China. The company has sent the Coca-Cola glasses to a laboratory for examination and results showed the glasses are safe to use.
