Summer Davos Forum attracts record number

Around 173 participants from 34 countries and regions have registered to take part in the Tianjin 2010 Summer Davos Forum, including dozens of Fortune 500 companies, international financial institutions and major media.

This is the largest number of registered participants in the past three meetings.

Among the registered participants, 121 are from international industries and businesses, consisting of 47 business leaders of the World Economic Forum (WEF) foundation and 74 business leaders.

The WEF is a Geneva-based non-profit foundation best known for its annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland and it also organizes the "Annual Meeting of the New Champions" in China.

The Fortune 500 companies include Duke Energy, Alcatel-Lucent, British Telecom, Anglo American, Rio Tinto Group and Airbus. International renowned companies Publicis Group, Louis Vuitton, Sotetsu Rosen Co, Ltd, HTC, VIA, as well as international financial institutions Group Algebris Investments, Adveq Management AG and Swiss private bank Pictet & Cie have also registered. Major media includes “Time” Magazine, CNBC (Consumer News and Business Channel), AP China and WirtschaftsWoche.

A number of experts and scholars from University of Alberta, Canada, Hitotsubashi University, Japan and Peking University also have signed up.
