The output of 65.8 billion kilowatt-hours included that of two newly acquired power plants in Shizuishan in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Beilun in Zhejiang Province, which became members of the GD corporation in June 2007.

The figure was higher than the country's Three Gorges hydropower project, which generated 61.6 billion kwh of electricity last year.

GD Power is listed among the top five power companies, which also include China Huaneng Group, China Power Investment Corporation, China Huadian Corporation and China Datang Corporation.
